Portfolio Summary: Reflections on ICT in Education

This digital portfolio showcases my exploration and application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools in teaching and learning through reflections, images and a short video, I aim to demonstrate how digital tools enhance inclusivity, collaboration, and engagement in the classroom.

The three reflection papers highlight my experiences with the Google Docs, Microsoft Immersed Reader and Padlet. Google Docs proved to be a practical tool for each time collaboration. It allowed my peers and me to co-create lesson plans and share feedback seamlessly, promoting teamwork even at a distance. Microsoft Immersive Reader stood out for its inclusive features, such as text to speech, translation, and visual aids. It supports learners with diverse needs and makes reading accessible to all. Padlet, on the other hand provided an interactive platform for collecting student responses and encouraging participation. Its visual layout and easy interface make it ideal for promoting active learning and creativity.

The three images featured in my portfolio provide visual evidence of these tools in use. One image from an SCCI plus workshop emphasize the role of ICT, such as PowerPoint, in inclusive teaching through visual and auditory methods, Another image shows a Padlet wall I created on animals, demonstrating its collaborative potential. The final image captures my team using Google Docs to co-develop a lesson plan-an example of digital collaboration in action.

For the video component, I created a short instructional video teaching even an odd numbers using PowerPoint and editing tools like Camtasia and CapCut. This video reflects my ability to combine multimedia elements to create engaging, student friendly content. It also highlights how digital tools can enhance concept clarity through animations and narrations.

Overall, this blog has helped me reflect on the practical value of ICT in education. It allowed me to improve my digital literacy and prepared me to integrate technology effectively in future classrooms to support diverse learners and make lessons more meaningful.
